Place it in the flow, not the fringe
The single most important placement rule: put the booth where guests naturally move. Near the bar, along the path to the dance floor, or adjacent to the lounge area. Booths hidden in side rooms or far corners see a fraction of the traffic.
Work with your venue and planner to identify high-traffic zones during the reception, then position the booth so guests encounter it without going out of their way.
Time the opening to the reception's energy
The sweet spot for opening a photo booth is typically after dinner, as the reception transitions into dancing and mingling. Guests are relaxed, drinks are flowing, and the energy is high.

Give it room to breathe
Cramming a booth into a tight space creates bottlenecks and discourages groups. Allow enough room for a small line, for groups to gather, and for the attendant to work comfortably. A booth with space around it feels like an experience, not an obstacle.
Put the booth in the natural flow of the room and open it as the reception peaks. Placement and timing turn a good booth into a night-defining one.
